Flowers and Plants ScreenSaver 2.3

From this application’s name you can tell that you’re dealing with a screensaver, a screensaver that displays images of, well, flowers and plants. What isn’t immediately obvious from the title is that Flowers and Plants Screensaver is a slideshow screensaver.

If you are not familiar with how slideshow screensavers works, let me break it down for you. The screensaver kicks in when the computer goes idle; it displays an image for a while; then the screensaver uses a transition effect to move to another image; it displays that one for a bit; then it transitions to another image, and so on, and so on until it runs out of images and starts all over again.

Flowers and Plants Screensaver displays an image for 3 seconds – that’s the default value. From the Settings menu you can choose one of several preset values, like 10 seconds, 1 minute, or 5 minutes. The screensaver uses several transition effects to move from one image to another. From the same Settings menu you can choose if you want the screensaver to “Cycle through all effects”, or you can pick just one transition effect and let the screensaver use only that one. You can also adjust the speed of the transition effects.

That’s pretty much all there is to say about Flowers and Plants Screensaver, from a functionality point of view. From a technical point of view, you should know about these technical details:

Download – the download weighs in at 4.5Mb, which means it will complete in no time at all (even if you have to contend with a lousy internet connection).
Supported OS – at the time of writing this and according to the developer, the screensaver provides support for Windows 9x, NT, Me, 2000, XP, Vista, and Windows 7.
Limitations – there are none, you can use the screensaver free of charge for as long as you want.
